The 22nd Asian U20 Athletics Championships 2026 is officially underway at the Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground! As top youth athletes from across Asia bring their A-game to Hong Kong, we at Brainstormake are incredibly proud to reveal something we’ve been working on behind the scenes—the official medal design.

While the athletes are pushing their limits on the track, here is a first look at the design story behind the medals they are competing for.

🥇 The Design Concept: The Kai Tak Debut

This is a historic moment for Hong Kong sports. It’s the very first time this international championships is being hosted at our brand-new landmark—the Kai Tak Sports Park.

We wanted these medals to capture that milestone. By going with a sleek, pure metal finish, we stripped away the clutter to focus on what matters most: the raw, powerful spirit of track and field.

📐 Visual Element Analysis

  • Bringing the "Pearl of the Orient" to Life The main stadium’s iconic exterior is made of thousands of triangular panels that catch the light like a gem. We translated this texture into sharp, bold geometric facets on the medal itself. Thanks to precise high-relief layering, the surface reflects light beautifully—symbolizing how these young athletes shine on the track after years of hard work.
  • Etching History into Metal To celebrate the championships' historic debut at this world-class venue, we covered the entire background with the stadium's distinct architectural lines. It's our way of saying that every record broken during these four days will be permanently etched into the history of Hong Kong's new home of sports.
